How I started making anti-tick collars.
I stayed at home with a depression & grief disorder, because my mom died unexpectedly. My mom “survived” lung cancer & a brain tumor. But at a regular checkup cancer was back in multiple places. She was okay one day & very sick the next. Everything went very fast that month, doctors said she probably only had days left.. I couldn’t believe that to be true, but it was. She died within a few days. It’s not easy finding yourself & trying to navigate through life after such a tragedy.I tried a lot of things to keep my mind distracted. Polymer clay, stamping dog tags, resin art, bracelets, silicone beads, wire wrapping, painting & more. Nothing really turned out the way I wanted to. I started making anti-tick collars for our 3 dogs & finally found something that I loved doing, after a lot of tears, swearing & failed ideas.
I just want to be happy & create.

Anti-tick collars with em-ceramic beads are a perfect natural solution if you don’t want to use chemicals, or if your pet has sensitive skin. Em® beads are safe for people, animals & the environment.
What is em®, how it’s made, how it works.
Em beads can be used for various things. It’s A technology developed by Japanese scientist Dr.teruo higa. Em® stands for effective micro-organisms. Microorganisms (or microbes) are tiny living things, too small to be seen with the naked eye. They exist practically everywhere & are crucial for maintaining ecological balance.
Em-ceramic beads are made by mixing clay with different micro-organisms, fermenting the mixture & then baking them. Like everything in life, em beads give off vibration (far-infrared wave). For some reason this emitted resonance is unpleasant for ticks & other similar insects.

A little bit of important info you need to know : First & foremost, there is never a 100% guarantee that your pet will never have ticks again. You should always check your pet & yourself after every walk.
It can take upto 3 weeks for the em’s to fully do their job. Everything needs to adjust to the resonance they emit.
Wearing the anti-tick collar 24/7 is recommended for best results, However don’t leave it on unsupervised! or during rough play. Nothing is chew proof, so em’s can break.
The collars I make for cats have a break-away buckle, so your cat can break free. A break-away is designed to release under pressure. But you should keep that buckle clean & check it regularly, dust & debris can stop it from working. + Definitely don’t get mad, when your cat may return home without a collar, this means the break-away buckle works & they are safe & sound.
Never under any circumstance attach a leash to it, let your pet wear this along with a properly fitted collar or harness. Anti-tick collars are like jewelry.
Keep the em’s clean so they keep doing their job. Whatever you do, use Water only! soap or other chemicals can damage the collar & stop it from working. Rinse monthly or whenever you feel it’s necessary.
Buy a new anti-tick collar yearly. You should replace it more frequently if there is extra wear & tear.
It is said that the emitted resonance can have a calming effect on nervous/scared pets & it can improve your pet’s coat/skin microbiome & their natural immunity.
The anti-tick collars don’t damage long haired fur, but the best thing in my opinion is that they are suitable for pets with sensitive skin or allergies. Because there are no pesticides or chemicals they are also safe for lactating pets, puppies, kittens. No annoying spot on treatment, so you can touch your pet at anytime + your pet is allowed to swim or get wet; just make sure it’s not in a pool with chemicals in it.
