How to measure

You want the anti-tick collar to sit comfortable, so don’t guess your pet’s measurements. Every dog/cat is different even within their own breed. There can be a significant variation in size according to gender/age/genetics.

If measuring is a new experience for your pet, the first thing you need to do is take your time. Introduce them to a measuring tape, let them sniff it. You can do this multiple days, let them get used to the measuring tape. Your pet is learning it’s not a dangerous thing. But please,

respect your pet’s personal space!

Be patient, be kind & use treats as a distraction. Also remember to reward your pet if they did a good job. If your pet doesn’t want to be measured, don’t force them.

Anti-tick collars are supposed to be worn loosely like jewelry, of course measuring your pet is most accurate but you can measure their collar instead. Measure collar (flat) from buckle to most used hole, add a few cm to be sure. For some dogs you may need to add even more, if they have a wider head than neck. The anti-tick collars are adjustable, but paracord doesn’t stretch at all & it needs to fit over your dogs head. For cats it doesn’t need to fit over their head, because of the break-away buckle but you may need to factor in a few cm if they have a lot or thick fur.

How to measure dog edition :

1 : Measure the lower neck above the shoulders.

2 : Measure widest part of the head, typically in front of the ears.

3 : Whichever size is the biggest is the size you’ll need.

How to measure cat edition :

Try to measure your cat when they are relaxed for most accurate reading.

1 : Gently wrap a measuring tape around the base of your cat’s neck, where the collar would naturally sit.

2 : Make sure to allow two fingers between your cats neck & measuring tape. This to ensure comfort.

3 : For cats with more fur or thick fur, you may need to factor in a few centimetres.
